2014-02-13 *** IMPORTANT NEWS *** for all Cobra ODE and 3k3y PS3 users! Sony have released new firmware update that blocks those Disk Emulators.

Both teams are of course working now to solve this biut for now.. DO NOT UPDATE YOUR PS3 to firmware 4.55 !!!

The main benefit of this ODE comapred to other similar produts is the compact size (=easy to fit inside the console) and reliable manufactures with great support and FW updates.

  Game backup feature (ripper):
  3k3y is true ODE and uses a full ISO files. ISO from decrypted dumps wont work. The ripping feature of 3k3y is very essential as the full ISO is needed...
  
  3k3y Ripper App Rebuilds Scene Rips! Extensive research has gone into this and we are now very proud to announce that the Ripper App now can rebuild complete ISO files from decrypted scene or jailbreak rips. To do so it needs ISO Rebuild Data, or IRD. This data consists of standard ISO headers, file system structure information and other metadata, and is as such freely distributable as it does not contain any copyrighted content.
  
  DVD drive emulator
  The 3k3y is a DVD drive emulator. An optical disk drive emulator (ODE) for the Playstation 3 video game console.
  
  This means that whatever you can run via Disc on your ps3 console, you can run as an ISO on your harddrive.
  
  One great feature we have been playing with is the ability to maniulate certain ISOs after they have been dumped to make them region free. This can be done with Blu Ray Movies using AnyDVD HD. You can also do this to PSX (Play Station 1 games), change the region on the ISO to achieve region free gaming on your console.
  
  It is installed between the genuine Bluray drive and the PS3 motherboard.
  
  Once 3k3y is successfully installed and configured it can be used to make backups of your original PS3 game disks to USB media, and play those backups from USB media without the need of the original game disk.
  
  Several games can be backed up to a single USB media, making it ideal as a jukebox for hardcore gamers as well as for families with children too young to handle bluray discs with appropriate care.
  
  
  LCD Remote: OPTINAL - NOT INCLUDED IN THIS PACKAGE
  The 3k3y remote is compatible with XK3y remote and vice versa!
  
  The LCD remote is handy when selecting games ISO and updating firmware. However this remote is not required for 3k3y to work.
  
  A possible use of those remotes is that consoles using iso/dev/mp3 menu may be banned in the near future because the menu systems are easy to detect for the dash... In that case the remote can be the only way to select ISO files to load. The 3k3y LCD remote is offered as separate add-on.
  
  Wi Fi Dongle: OPTINAL - NOT INCLUDED IN THIS PACKAGE
  The 3k3y WiFi dongle is offered as separate add-on.
  
  Hardware ripper PCB: OPTINAL - NOT INCLUDED IN THIS PACKAGE
  This add-on is a must if you want to make own backups (rip games). Its much much faster that using software only. Offered as separate add-on.

  NOTE: Avoid Purchasing OEM version form Chinese Suppliers, they are Patched to overcome the traditional and simplified Chinese Restriction put in the kernel by the 3K3y Team. The 3k3y would only display Asian languages on the remote and will be NOT be able to run all updates!
